Purple has an uplifting effect on mind and body and can calm nerves, create a feeling of spirituality and increases sensitivity, imagination and creativity.

Light purple or lavender is seen as a feminine and graceful colour and is associated with wealth and women.  If only wearing that would make us that.

If you have to much purple it can bring out the qualities of being irritable, impatient and arrogant.
