Bungaree Station was established by George Hawker and his brothers in 1841. Bungaree became the headquarters of an extensive sheep station with 100 thousand merino sheep by the 1880s. It resembled a small village, with its own Church, Station Store, Blacksmith Shop and even the District Council Chambers , as well as its beautiful sandstone Homestead, Woolshed, Shearers Quarters, Stableyard, Managers House and other staff cottages. Now, 178 years later, it is an efficient mixed farm run by the descendants of the original founder, G.C. Hawker. Consequently, Bungaree Station is not a museum, but rather a living record of rural Australia since 1841.

Today visitors can explore the property’s rich history or the modern farming enterprise through several tour options.

  • Choice of ceremony and reception venues to suit smaller and larger events
  • Picturesque photo locations, from historic buildings and formal gardens through to country vistas
  • Flexible catering and beverage options
  • Bed and Breakfast accommodation for up to 35 people
  • Camping for up to 25 people
  • Complete privacy

Offering unique venues for wedding ceremonies and receptions, along with accommodation for guests, Bungaree Station is the perfect place to celebrate your new lives together.

A stunning church located at the entrance to the property is perfect for couples seeking a more traditional ceremony, while the beautiful Homestead Gardens reflect the seasons and provide a less formal ceremony venue.

Guests can enjoy then post-ceremony drinks in the Homestead Alfresco function area, while the bridal party and photographer are utilising their preferred photo locations on the property, before joining their guests.

The wedding celebrations can then continue with your reception in either the Shearers’ Quarters or iconic Woolshed.

At Bungaree you have the flexibility of tailoring every aspect of your day if you wish – from styling the function venue through to selecting the caterer that best suits your requirements. This flexibility extends through to beverage selection and supply, whether you would like us to provide a great range of local wines and beers or would like to bring your own beverages.

And then, when its time to hang up your dancing shoes for the evening, we offer a range of accommodation for your guests, so you can really make a full weekend of it, catching up with your guests again for breakfast if you wish.
