My name is Fiona and I am a self-taught baker from the UK living in South Australia with my little family (1 Dr hubby, 1 baby and 2 puppies). I started baking as a passion for all things sweet and to indulge my husband and his work colleagues who have been faithful (and very happy) tasting guinea pigs as I have learnt different skills and techniques.
Since introducing our baby daughter Darcy to our family in August 2018 I have started baking more and have found baking and cake decorating to be a great way to find ‘me’ again after having a baby :).
I have always had a passion for food, originally studying Nutrition at University, and I strongly believe in the 80/20 balance of healthy living/the odd treat. So Poppy’s Kitchen (named after my first puppy) was set up to indulge the 20% treat times!
